Resumen
La migración hacia Estados Unidos ha crecido notoriamente en las últimas décadas, con consecuencias en la vida económica, política, demográfica y cultural de nuestro país. La forma en que se vive, se percibe y se concibe el fenómeno, por parte de
quienes se van, de los que regresan y de aquellos que se quedan tiene repercusiones espaciales. Desde el punto de vista cultural, los imaginarios sociales nos dan cuenta de la forma en que el ser humano organiza su medio y le da sentido. El presente artículo aborda la forma en que los imaginarios sociales se materializan en el ámbito local de la frontera México-Estados Unidos, en particular en la ciudad de Nogales,
Sonora; donde la conformación y dinámica del territorio se dan a partir de una comunidad migrante, que traduce sus imaginarios en un paisaje aparentemente caótico, vulnerable y en riesgo.

Abstract
Nogales: Immigrants and frontier landscape. Immigration towards the United States has grown considerably in the last decades with consequences in our countrys economical, political, demographic and cultural life. The way we live, we perceive
and conceive the phenomenon from the ones that go away, the ones that come back and the ones that stay, has special impacts. From the cultural point of view, the social immigrants dont realize the way that the human being organizes his/
her environment and gives it a meaning. The present article tackles the way that social imaginaries takes form in the local field of the Mexican-American frontier, specially in Nogales city in the state of Sonora; where the conformation and
dynamic of the territory occur from an immigrant community that translate its imaginaries in a landscape apparently chaotic, vulnerable and in danger.
